Agents
I think the potential for Flexi Column System is huge, way beyond what I would be capable of managing on my own.
This idea is new to the market so the opportunity and potential addressable market is big.
My current plan for managing this is to appoint agents to cover areas of the country.
I'm sure this will change after discussion but provisionally....
Benefits for agents
- An exclusive territory
- Reductions on the cost of parts
- Opportunity to extend your existing business
- Access to a new stream of customers
- You retain all earnings
- Low upfront investment, we have done that
- Low overheads and potential liabilities
- In at the start of this exciting opportunity
- Potential to influence the direction of the business
What we would offer
- Full training
If you are already of a practical bent e.g: a carpenter / kitchen / bedroom fitter etc. you are already 90% there. - Ongoing practical support
- The parts at a much reduced rate
As the business grows and we are able to order in greater quantities we will be able to reduce prices further. - Very little interference
- All the customers/leads in your territory who order via the website or contact us
Why not a franchise?
I looked at franchising as an option but decided against it because:
- I don't have the time or inclination to continually monitor petty compliance.
- I don't believe legally specifying everything, as a lawyer would, helps anyone.
- I don't think franchisees would be the type of independent people that this enterprise needs.
- People I've met who have been franchisees have little positive to say about it.
I think Agents is the best and fairest solution most likely to satisfy all parties.
About you
You will have been trading for at least two years and be VAT registered.
You are likely to be something like an Interior Designer, Kitchen Fitter, Renovator, Restorer, Tradesman or Builder. So you have the skills to sell, measure and install.
About me
After a long career in soft furnishings supplying national brands with bespoke products while also working from a local shop supplying the public I semi-retired. In 2014 I started a business making Pelmets with rounded ends / returns www.pelmets4u.co.uk still operating.
I am now in my mid seventies. My problem is I hadn’t anticipated how long it would take to get to where I am now and whilst I enjoy it I'm not going to carry on for ever. I'm now thinking about the best way to take this business forward and make it a success.
